Brandon Bain & Family Costa Rica Adventure

Day 1: July 5 ---- Arrive & Drive to Turrialba (Casa Turire)

Today your private guide and driver will meet you outside of the San Jose airport and drive you to the area of Turrialba. Here you will be staying in one of our favorite hotels, Casa Turire. This hotel sits on a lake with stunning views of the smoking Turrialba Volcano and surrounding mountains. Your travel time from the San Jose Airport to the Casa Turire will be just over 2 hours. (Meals: None)

Day 2: July 6 ---- Raft Pacuare & Dinner in Rural Village (Casa Turire)

Pacuare River
We plan to start this trip off on the right with a rafting adventure on what National Geographic has listed as one of the top three most scenic rivers on the planet. We will leave Casa Turire after breakfast and start rafting the Pacuare through virgin tropical rainforest for four hours. You will feel you are lost in a Jurassic Park movie (no dinosaures). We'll stop for lunch along the river where your versatile CRR guides will prepare a first-class river lunch.

In the afternoon we'll visit our Sitio de Mata Project which is a local rural community that offers some of the best ecotourism experiences you can have and will leave you with memories to last a lifetime. Here we will be having dinner at Doña Fressy's house and a chance to experience some of the best food all week as she cooks you up a typical meal. (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner)

Day 3: July 7 ---- Travel to Rafiki Lodge (Rafiki Lodge)
Ummm? Which way to Rafiki...?

Today is a travel day as we take you to the Pacific side and stay in one of Costa Rica's most unique ecolodges. The setting is perfect as you will have views into the endless mountain green veil of mountains. The tents you will be staying in are anything but roughing it. Each tent has its private bath and makes for one of the more unique night's lodging you will surely ever have.

Along with the adventurous tent style lodging, Rafiki is also home to the best waterslide in Costa Rica that is fed by river water and makes for a lighting fast slide into the Rafiki pool. (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner)

Day 4: July 8 ---- Duckies in Savegre River (Rafiki Lodge)

Riding Duckies
Today we are back into the river experiencing a different kind of adventure. The duckies (two-man rafts) put you lower into the water and makes it feel like you are literally in the river as you venture down the rapids with your guides. This is a different adventure and very close by as the Rafiki Lodge is located on the Savegre River.

You will have the afternoon to relax at Rafiki.  You can lounge in the jacuzzi which is heated by solar panels as everything in Rafiki comes from clean energy. (Meals: Breakfast & Lunch)

Day 5: July 9 ---- Trek to Diamante,  Land of the Waterfalls (Sleep Behind Waterfall)
Great Night Sleep!

So we told you that Rafiki was unique but sleeping behind a waterfall makes Rafiki look mundane. This is an amazing adventure that we consider one of the top in Costa Rica. The trek is a bit strenuous but taking our time, enjoying the views, and a visit to the organic gardens will make the trip doable and pleasant. Here you will be sleeping behind a waterfall but not roughing it by anymeans. There are showers, bathrooms, and some of the finest meals in the perfect setting.

Once we arrive we will have a few more hikes to shock your senses which we can take part in after a rest and some lunch. The next hike will be to the top of a 600ft waterfall where you will take in a phenomenal view that will stay recorded in you mind for the rest of your lives. (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner)

Day 6: July 10 ---- Trek out of Diamante & Travel to Pacific (Cuna del Angel)

Today we will be hiking out of the cave after a visit to some pools where you will have the chance to swim and enjoy the pristine waters before we leave. Next we will be heading to the Pacific Coast which is just 40 minutes away. You will enjoy the luxury of the fine boutique hotel of Cuna del Angel. (Meals: Breakfast)

Day 7: July 11 ---- Canopy Tour (Cuna del Angel)
Cuna del Angel

Let the adventure continue as we take you to a nearby Canopy Tour that boasts of some of the most spectacular views of the Pacific (I hope you get the point by now that this trip involves a lot of great views!). You will enjoy the zips as you hang over 300ft above the rainforest floor. At the end of the zipline you can try the tarzan swing that will take you flying over the jungle canopy.

In the afternoon you will have time to enjoy the beach or just relax at the Cuna del Angel. (Meals: Breakfast)

Day 8: July 12 ---- Horseback Ride & Travel to Double Tree (Double Tree)

After the horseback riding you will head north for the 2 hour drive to the Double Tree Hotel where you will have the fine amenities of an all-inclusive and enjoy a vacation from your vacation. (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner)
